Obituary of Edna Hodges

Funeral services for Edna Hodges, age 86, of Kelly, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Rosefield Baptist Church with Bro. Bubba Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the church.

Edna was born on February 17, 1932 to the union of Charles and Alpha Hyde in Rosefield and she passed from this life on December 8, 2018 at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania.

She was a member of the Rosefield Baptist Church and she loved to play the piano and sing. Her loving kindness was a virtue that will be remembered most about her. She was a mother to anyone that came to her house. She was preceded in death by her husband: Wilbur Bryan Hodges; her parents; daughter: Gayla Urena; sons: John Hodges, Sr. and Joel Hodges; grandchildren: Bryan Stewart and Kristian Adams.

She is survived by her son: Samuel Hodges and his wife Linda of Kelly; daughters: Patty Louis and her husband Ray of Gonzales; Wanda McNamara and her husband Rock McNamara of Oak Ridge, TN; Karen North; 3 sisters: Cheryl McGuffe, Chloe Smith, and Cleo Pereira; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.  

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Brian Smith and the staff at Hardtner Medical Center and to the staff at LaSalle Nursing Home for their loving care.

Pallbearers will be John Wiley, Frank Davis, Matt Pereira, Danny Pereira, Steven Pereira, Pat Pereira, Damion Hodges, and Warren L. Wise, Jr.
