Obituary of Mildred Janet Bradford Esters

Memorial services for Mildred Janet Esters age 71 of Olla will be held 2:00 PM Sunday
December 16, 2018 from the chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home in Olla with Rev. Zackary Thacker and Rev. Yogi Patel officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Olla on Sunday beginning at 12:00 Noon. 

Mildred Janet Esters was born on July 10, 1947 at Olla, LA to the union of her parents Horace Greeley Bradford, Sr. and Bertha Lee Evans Bradford. She passed from this life on Thursday December 13, 2018 at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.  Mrs. Esters was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband and the love of her life James Glynn Esters and a daughter Jamie Lynn Esters. She and Jmaes Glynn were together fifty four years.

She served as mayor of Georgetown, LA from 1981 to 1984. She was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a nursing assistant in her early years at the Hardtner Medical Clinic in Olla. She excelled at being a homemaker , loving to cook, sew , helping raise her nieces and nephews; and she loved to help the elderly around her. 

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Jaime Loomis and husband Lance of Tullos and LaShea Esters and fiancee Junior Johns  of Tullos; her grandchildren: Zackary, Tyler and Cody Thacker; Kade Esters, Zoie Brooks, Ayden Keen, Brodee Brown and Kennyn Brown
