Obituary of Gloria Callendar Adams

Funeral services for Gloria L. Adams age 79 of Olla will be held 2:00 PM Saturday December 15, 2018 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jack McKeithen and Rev. Dennis Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery at Sikes. The Adams Family will receive visitors on Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until time of service.

Gloria Callendar Adams was born on June 10, 1939 at Urania to the union of her parents Tommy Lee Callendar and Bessie Pauline Simmons Callendar and passed from this life on Thursday December 13, 2018 at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of fifty seven years Chester Adams, Sr. her sister: Mackie Wilson ; her grandson Matthew Culberson and a great grandson Kristian Adams.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her children: Jeannie Gorham and husband Lee of Sikes, Karen and Dennis Baker of Wildsville, Chester Adams, Jr. and wife Julie of Olla, Lori Culberson and husband Kenneth of Chandler; her grandchildren: DeAnna Robertson, Tommy and Tiffany Baker, Kami and Brandon Spann, Amber and Houston Callendar, Layton and Tina Adams, Rusty Carpenter and Kayla Anderson, Lindsey and Bobby Stowe, Scott Baker, Katlyn Baker, Hannah Culberson, Kendra Culberson and Jacob Culberson; sixteen great-grandchildren; and her sisters: Melba DeVille and Joan Tiller.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Baker, Kenneth Culberson, Lee Gorham, Tommy Baker, Rusty Carpenter, Brandon Spann and Bobby Stowe.
