Obituary of Ollie Inez Watson Guimbellot

Mrs. Ollie was a very special lady to all that knew her. Her legacy will be remembered and carried on through the lives of her children and grandchildren. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, and from that day forward she was the witness, prayer warrior and teacher the Lord had called her to be. Her obedience to Jesus Christ and her caring heart for everyone she came in contact with gave her the opportunity to lead many people to the Lord during her life. Most of her time was spent working with children and young people. She taught classes at church and had her own Christian centered daycare that she used as a tool to not only prepare these young souls for school, but to also prepare them for the life that God wanted them to lead. It was her life’s goal to make sure that anyone she came in to contact with would hear about and come to know the Lord that loves them. This beautiful soul was the matriarch of her family. She made sure all of her children and grandchildren came to know and have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Even when Mrs. Ollie was sick and needed care for herself, she obeyed the Lord and rose to the occasion. She would witness to her doctors and nurses during her appointments or while she was in the hospital. She wanted everyone to know about her Lord and Savior. She made them listen even when they didn’t want to. She would ask the pressing questions to find out if they were saved or not. And no matter their standing with the Lord, she would pray for them then and there. She was a prayer warrior even when she was the one needing the prayers. Anyone could call her day or night, and she would drop everything to pray with them. She taught us that God always comes first and that family is everything. This is the legacy that she is leaving behind. This is the legacy that will be carried on through her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. This is not just an ending for Mrs. Ollie. This is also a new beginning for her and the eternal life that she will now be spending with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2019 from the sanctuary of Cross Roads Baptist Church at Grayson and burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Winnsboro under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Officiating the service will be Pastor Shane Duke and Bro. Tommy Nelson. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 1:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Guimbellot; her parents, Perry Virgil Watson and Ollie Pearl Peel Watson; by her son-in-law, Thomas McKnight; daughter-in-law, Susan Guimbellot and her siblings: Wilson Watson, J.C. Watson, Morgan Watson, Perry Watson, Waylon Watson and Doris Gates.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is her two daughters: Judy Watson and husband, Randy of West Monroe and Brenda McKnight of West Monroe; two sons: Glenn Guimbellot and wife, Nancy and Timothy Guimbellot all of West Monroe; her sister, Adell Williams of Wisner; nine grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Watson, Jeffrey Watson, Blake Guimbellot, Benjamin Milstead, William Hatten and Logan Currington. Honorary pallbearers include Zachary Haynes, Austin Savano, Alexis Caraway and Dylan Caraway.
