Obituary of Marie Oxner Murphy

Funeral services for Marie Oxner Murphy age 88 of Monroe and formerly of Hebert will be held 10:00 AM graveside Thursday January 31, 2019 at the Bethany Cemetery at Hebert with Bro. Rick Aultman officiating; with services   under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Columbia Thursday morning from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.

Marie Oxner was born on February 6, 1930 at Clarks, LA to the union of W.H. Oxner and Ola Emmons Oxner and passed from this life on January 29, 2019 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe following an extended illness.

Marie met the love of her life, Guy Melvin Murphy and together they had four children. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband and by her son Timothy. She also was preceded in death by six of her siblings: Frank, John, William Lee, Margaret, Ruth and Ethel. To know Marie was to love her as she was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons: Cliff Murphy and wife Sandy of Grayson, Guy Murphy, JR and wife Bonnie of Monroe and her daughter: Penny Royals and husband Johnny of Mangham; her brother: Charles Oxner and a host of granchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
