Obituary of Lucille Morris Claunch

Services for Lucille M. Claunch 104 years and 4 months of age, of Bossier City will be held in the Chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, Louisiana on Saturday February 23, 2019. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Little Star Cemetery west of Kelly.

Lucille was born October 19, 1914 in Rochelle, LA and passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 in Bossier City, LA.  She was a graduate of Clarks High School, and a seamstress.  She and her husband owned and operated Alto’s Economy Store north of Kelly for many years.

Mrs. Claunch was preceded in death by her husband, Cary Alto Claunch, in 1982; and parents Ruth Gammil Morris and A.W. “Pappy” Morris, and five brothers Ray, Reed, Clyde and Myrle Morris.

Survivors include her only daughter, Flora and son-in-law, Frank Hover of Bossier City, LA.

Other survivors include: Four grandchildren: Darrell Hover and (Debbie) of Collinsville, MS, Katherine Parker of Little Rock, AR, Carmen Kent and (Donald), of Shreveport LA, and Dorothy Morgan and (Don) of Bossier City, LA.  Her ten Great Grandchildren include: Christopher Hover, Dawn Sims, Chad Hover and wife Courtney; Angelica, Maria & Victoria Parker; Ricky McDonald, Valeria Perez and husband Jesse,  Denisa Paylok and husband Christopher, and Sarah Morgan, nine great- great grandchildren and sister, Ruth Riser of Columbia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Morris, Tony Morris, Mike Morris, Don Morgan, Jesse Perez and Ricky McDonald.
