Obituary of Imogene Warner
Funeral services for Imogene Darden Warner, age 93 of Lake Charles and formerly of Columbia will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 24, 2019 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce McGee officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019 from 12:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Imogene Jewell Darden Warner was born on July 11, 1925 at Grayson, LA to the union of Joseph Paul Darden and Mittie Irene Horn Darden and she passed from this life on Friday, February 22, 2019 at her residence in Lake Charles following an extended illness.
Mrs. Warner was a member of the Columbia Heights Baptist Church. She and her husband, Ted B. Warner had the State Farm Insurance Agency in Columbia opening in 1961. After Mr. Warner's death, their son, Glen Warner came in to assist his mother with day to day operations. She retired in 2003 after serving the community for forty-two years. She was preceded in death by her husband, by her parents, her brother, Frank Darden and her sisters: Sybil Bostick and Venila Wells.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her son, Glen Warner and wife, Debbie of Monroe; her daughter, Annette Larson of Lake Charles; her sister, Joy Patterson and husband, John of Grayson; her grandchildren: Elise Gibson, Christina Kittrell, Amy Hanson and Stephanie Gullette; twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy McCarty, John Patterson, Paul David Darden, Christopher Fisher, John Wells, Todd Patterson, William Fisher and Byron Bostick.
In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the Columbia Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 1627, Columbia, LA 71418.
