Obituary of Betty Flo Cassels Wyles Powell
Funeral services for Flo Wyles Powell will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 18, 2019 from the Chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA with Bro. Shane Duke, Bro. C. R. Martin and Bro. Eric Harriman officiating. Interment will follow at Columbia Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 PM until 9 PM Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the funeral home.
Betty Flo Cassels Wyles Powell was born March 30, 1946 at Columbia, Louisiana to the union of her parents, Charles Murphy Cassels and Lillie Mae Harrelson Cassels and she passed from this life to her heavenly home on March 15, 2019 at Glenwood Medical Center in West Monroe. Flo was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia. She loved her family and her church family. Her family always knew she was praying for them daily and she was faithful in reading her bible. Flo loved to travel, shop and cook. She collected dishes and recipes which she was committed to passing on to her children and grandchildren. She worked for years compiling and publishing a book of recipes to pass down to her family. It will be cherished always as it was not only a book of recipes but of family history and stories of her life. Flo was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Herman Lee Wyles, Jr.; brothers: Charles Faye Cassels and Murphy Ray Cassels and grandson, Kyle Rogers.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her husband, Dale Powell of Columbia; sons: Kevin Wyles (Beverly), John Wyles (Lori) and Jeffery Wyles (Elecia); grandchildren: Christopher Wyles (Claire), Lillie Rogers, Blake Wyles (Kristen), Allison Wyles, Tyler Wyles, Chase Wyles and Scot Wyles; great-grandchildren: Cameron Wyles, Alivia Wyles, Kyla Rogers, Jude Wyles and Charlie Grace Wyles; step-children: Janet Lawrence, Lisa Vander, Darin Williams and Danielle Williams; sisters: Geraldine Volentine and Jo Welch (Tim) and her sweet sister-in-law, Polly Harrelson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randall Cassels, Gary Cassels, Ryan Welch, Kurt Volentine, Darren Welch, David Harrelson, Greg Black and Jeff Bailes.
