Obituary of Joe L. Johnson

Funeral services for Joe L. Johnson, age 72 of Urania, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Urania United Methodist Church, Urania, Louisiana with Bro. Aaron Carpenter and Bro. Denver McBroom officiating. Interment will follow at Urania Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home, Olla. The family will receive visitors from 5 PM until 8 PM, Monday, March 18 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Olla, Louisiana.

Joe L. Johnson was born April 28, 1946 in Winnsboro, Louisiana to the union of Joseph F. Johnson and Gertrude Lee Johnson and he passed from this life on March 16, 2019 at his home in Urania, Louisiana. Joe had long attended Urania Methodist Church. He loved the outdoors and could often be found golfing, hunting or fishing. He also enjoyed bowling. He loved life and made life fun for those around him. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Joseph Lance Johnson.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of over 53 years, Earline Lee Johnson of Urania; his son, Joe L. Johnson, Jr. (Shana) of Covington; his daughter, Suzonne Williams (Joel) of Keithsville; sisters: Linda Meredith (Dale) of Cottonport, Joyce Walters (Arlie) of Winnsboro and Derenda Phillips (Harold) of Baker; grandchildren: Jakob Williams (Kristen) of Haughton and Brandon Lee Johnson (Cesley) of Urania and great-grandchildren: Presleigh Williams, Noah Williams and Alora Leigh Johnson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jakob Williams, Brandon Johnson, Dale Meredith, Jr., Jacob Posey, Clint Carter and Lance Self. Honorary pallbearers are Houston Callender and Jay Banes.
