Obituary of Jim S. Atnip, Sr.

Funeral services for Jim S. Atnip, Sr. age 86 of Georgetown will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday from the Olla chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Carpenter and Rev. Willie Beaubeouf officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery located at 4000 LA 472, Georgetown, LA. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until time of service at the funeral home.

Jim S. Atnip, Sr. was born on January 5, 1933 at Smithville, Tennessee to the union of his parents Burley Lee Atnip and Novella Martha Curtis Atnip and passed from this life on Monday April 1, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Shirley Ann Atnip, and by nine brothers and sisters . Jim was the youngest of ten. Jim was a well known building contractor throughout the north central Louisiana area.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his daughter: Kathy Atnip of Georgetown and his son: Jim S. Atnip, Jr.; five grandchildren: Gibran, Brittany, Monique, Jessica and Dustin; eight great-grandchildren:Lissette, Adriana, Kevin, Legend, Kiera, Kyler, Alex and Clara.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gibran Smith, Jimmy Atnip, Lester Smith, Dustin Atnip, John Loren Swope and Kevin Cooper.
