Obituary of Barbara Jean Roberts

Funeral services for Barbara Jean Roberts will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA with Bro. Steve Barnett officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson, LA. The family will receive visitors from 5 PM until 8 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the funeral home.

Barbara Jean Darden Roberts was born September 14, 1938 in Columbia, LA to the union of her parents, Odis Randolph Darden, Sr. and Lorena Tarver Darden and she passed from this life May 12, 2019 in Columbia. She enjoyed fishing and playing golf but her passion was spending time with her family. She was always there with love and support for her sons throughout their lives. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and she spent many hours at ball games and activities where they were participating. She loved her family and they loved her tremendously. Barbara Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronnie Roberts; her grandson, Austin Roberts and her brother, Butch Darden.

Left to cherish her memory are her four sons: Mark Roberts (Sue), Randy Roberts, Sr. (Sherrie), Jeff Roberts (Ruby) and Deno Darden (Cheryl); grandchildren: Jake Adams, Heath Brooks, Lacey Lizenby, Randy Roberts, Jr., Colby Roberts, Sierra Holloway, Slade Darden and Sidney Ashley (Tyler); 19 great-grandchildren; special cousins: Ronnie Darden, Rex Darden and Linda Wright, who was also a dear friend; sister-in-law and special friend, Nancy Darden as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jake Adams, Colby Roberts, Bubba Holloway, Heath Brooks, Randy Roberts, Jr. and J. D. Lizenby. Honorary pallbearers are Slade Darden and Tyler Ashley.
