Obituary of Bill Kerry

Funeral services for Bill A. Kerry age 79 of Olla will be held 2:00 PM Sunday June 2, 2019 from the Olla chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jack McKeithen and Rev,. Jim McKeithen officiating. Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday June 1, 2019 at the funeral home in Olla from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Bill Artis Kerry was born on February 10, 1940  in Cloutierville, LA to the union of his parents, William Kerry and Susie Brossette Kerry and passed from this life on Friday May 31, 2019 at the Winnfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winnfield. Bill enjoyed music and played the bass guitar. He loved to hunt (especially squirrels) and fish. Bill served in the United States Marine Corp from 1960 to 1964 and was the Communications-Radio Operator for the west coast of the United States. Bill also served as the Police Chief in Olla for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his sons, Billie Bailes Kerry and by two brothers: Will Kerry and Sammy Kerry.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his sons: Mike Kerry (Cindy Black) of Olla and Chris Kerry of Olla; his brother, Houston Kerry (Mae); his beloved grandchildren: John Kerry (Courtney) and Ashley Kerry Smith (Bradley); his great-grandchildren: Bella , Cooper and Luke Kerry and his very special friend and constant companion, Dianne Thorn.

Serving as pallbearers will be Andres Thompson, Bruce Baum, Terry Thorn, Jay Bailes, Cody McClanahan and Jeff Bailes. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Thompson and Ray Atwell.
