Obituary of Joey "Buck" Varnell

Funeral services for Buck Varnell, age 42 of Grayson, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 21, 2019 at Crossroads Baptist Church, Grayson with Bro. Shane Duke and Bro. Bruce McGee officiating. Visitation will be Friday at 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Columbia under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home.

Joey was born September 16, 1976 to David Earl and Trish Varnell and He passed from this life on June 17, 2019. He loved the outdoors and hog hunting was his favorite thing to do. He was the "Hog Man"! He loved his son with all his heart and cherished the time they spent together.

Buck worked on pipelines running sidebooms and trackhoes. He had been to several states, working all over the USA. He also worked for Varnell Construction where he learned how to do everything with tractors and mechanic work of all kinds. His daddy had taught him so much of how to work. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Taryn Jackson Varnell, parents, David and Trish Varnell, half-brother, Hughy Paul Williams, several aunts and uncles, a host of cousins he loved dearly and a host of friends he cherished.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Bob McIlwain, Tommy Rowland, Bubba Moses, Chadd Roberts, Billy Ray Ainsworth, Courtney Dunn, Bobby Joe Mercer and Bubba Flores. Honorary pallbearers are Tanner Flores, Julian Roberts, Landon McClanahan, Cameron Germany, Berl Braddock, Dwayne Humphries and Jonathan Varnell.
