Obituary of Jimmie Ruth Haygood

Funeral services for Mrs. Jimmie Ruth Hooter Haygood of Lake Charles, formerly of Enterprise and Columbia will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 6, 2019 graveside at Old Catahoula Cemetery, Enterprise, Louisiana with Bro. Jason Paul officiating. Visitation will be at the cemetery from 9:50 AM until time of service at the cemetery. Services are under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia.

Jimmie was born May 21, 1931 in Enterprise, Louisiana to the union of her parents, E. E. Hooter and Bessie Lambert Hooter and she left this earth for her heavenly home on June 27, 2019 in Lake Charles, Louisiana after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. C. J. Haygood, her parents and sisters: Anna Lea Crawford and Mona LaDell Pittman.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Candace Mosher (husband, Mark) of Ragley, LA and Tami Blocker (husband, Charlie) of Moss Bluff, LA; four grandchildren: Jada Cannon, Garret Vincent (wife, Britney), Lauren Ulman (husband, Eric) and Stormi Sonnier (husband, Clayton) and seven great-grandchildren.

Jimmie always had a heart for helping others. While her husband was alive, she worked alongside him in various ministries: Sunday School, Nursing Home Ministry, Local Singing Events. They also pastored Plum Grove Pentecostal Church and Burroughs Pentecostal Church. Once her husband passed away, she moved to Lake Charles, LA and continued her passion to work with the homebound as a private sitter and caregiver. She touched so many with her love and compassion. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
