Obituary of Bill Langley
A memorial service for Billy Gene (Bill) Langley will be held 10 AM Saturday, July 13, 2019, from the Chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, Louisiana with Rev. Brian Thurman officiating. Inurnment will follow at Columbia Hill Cemetery, Columbia. The family will receive visitors from 9 AM until time of service.
Mr. Langley was born June 11, 1934, in Franklin Parish to the union of his parents, Claude W. Langley and Durelle Jewell Langley and passed from this life on June 19, 2019, at his home in Angier, North Carolina.
Following his graduation from Columbia High School in 1952, he enlisted in the Air Force where he served his country for four years with an honorable discharge in 1956. He was a retired long-distance truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Henry Volentine and nephew, Gary Tarver.
Those left to cherish his memory include his four children; two daughters: Sabrina Langley of Greensboro, NC, and Kelly Deese (Bill) of Cary, NC; two sons: Eric Langley of Rocky Mount, NC, and Bryan Langley of Sanford, NC; one grandson, Dustin Langley of Lincoln City, OR and one granddaughter, Gracie Deese of Cary, NC; two sisters: Claudelle Volentine of Grayson, LA and Shirley Thurman (Paul) of West Monroe, LA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
