Obituary of Mary LaVerne Adams

Funeral services for Mary LaVerne Gough Adams age 91 of Sikes will be held 10:00 AM Friday July 5, 2019 from the Olla chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Stacey Pitmon officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery at Sikes. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. at the funeral home in Olla.

Mary Laverne Gough Adams was born on May 22, 1928 at Hinton Camp, Louisiana to the union of her parents Ed and Edna “Little Maw” Gough and passed from this life on July 2, 2019 at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield following an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish, a faithful member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She married the love of her life, Hubert Adams in 1949 and they have spent seventy years as man and wife.

She leaves behind her precious husband Hubert Adams of Sikes; her sons: Glen Adams (Pat), David Adams (Jackie), Roy Adams (Ethel) and Donnie Adams (Dewanna); grandchildren: Shannon Adams (Amy), Allen Adams (Amie), Kristin Pelham (Matt), Sarah Barbo (Tommy), Matthew Adams, Chris Adams, Melissa Rainbolt (Tommy), Derek Lisenby, Toni Bacon (Danny), Todd Long (Nickie) and her brother John Gough (Nita) and numerous great grandchildren.

The Adams Family would like to send a special thanks to Linda Warner for the care, love and sweet affection given our mom during her final days.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Humphries, Larry Humphries,Tommy Barbo, Kenny Cox, Chris Adams, Derek Lisenby, Allen Adams, and Shannon Adams.
