Obituary of Dewey Benjamin Gunn

Dewey Benjamin Gunn, age 90 was born September 16, 1928 in Columbia, Louisiana to the union of his parents, Wiley Gunn and Lula Mae Weatherford Gunn and he passed from this life August 16, 2019 in Monroe, Louisiana after a lengthy illness. Known by friends and family as Benny, he served his country in the United States Army for eight years. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his brother, J.W. Gunn as well as his youngest son, Benny Dale Gunn and his grandson, Christopher Gunn.

Benny is survived by his son, Rick Gunn and wife, Jane and his daughters: Brenda Rucker and Wanda Faul and husband, Ronnie; grandchildren: Travis Faul and wife, Leah and Brent Faul and wife, Heidi and his great-grandchildren: Marleigh, Ava, Jace, Noah and Mason Faul.

The family will hold a private graveside service Monday, August 19, 2019 at Hebert Cemetery, Hebert, Louisiana with Bro. Rod Shipp officiating. Services will be under the direction of Riser Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society, Cancer Foundation or St. Jude's.
