Obituary of William Tracy Wheeler

Memorial services for William Tracy Wheeler, age 66 of Monroe will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia with Pastor Roy Glen Lowery officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12 PM until 2 PM prior to the service Sunday at the chapel.

William Tracy Wheeler was born on December 23, 1952 in Hebert, Louisiana to the union of his parents, A. C. Wheeler, Jr. and Macey Weatherford Wheeler. He passed from this life on August 22, 2019 at Hilltop Nursing Center, Pineville, Louisiana. William was preceded in death by his daughter Brianna Nicole Wheeler, father A. C. Wheeler, Jr. and mother Macey Weatherford Wheeler.

William was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church, Hebert, Louisiana. He loved his family, his country, loved people in general and never missed an opportunity to tell jokes. He had a fun-loving spirit and had a life of adventure that cannot be compared to many people.

William was a veteran and served 4 years in the U. S. Navy as an AME3 Aviation Structural Mechanic – Equipment, E-4 and was honorably discharged.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include children: Loree Atkins (Robert), Tracie Wheeler, Kelley Wheeler-Spath, Christopher Wheeler, Danielle Trichell and step-son Trey Fortenbery. His siblings are Donnie Wheeler (Susie), Johnny Wheeler (Judy), Iona Sprowles (James "Toby"), Peggy Dannehl (Larry), Juanita Castleberry (James), Larry O'Neal Wheeler (Sandy) and Mary Jane Goodman (Tim) as well as nine grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
