Obituary of Michael George Routon

Funeral services for Michael George Routon of Olla, Louisiana will be held at 10 AM Friday, October 4, 2019 from the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Olla with Bro. Denver McBroom officiating. Burial will follow at Olla Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the church from 5 PM until 8 PM Thursday, October 3, 2019.

Mike  Routon was born November 15, 1959 at Urania, Louisiana to the union of his parents, Johnny Leon Routon and Johnnie Knighten Routon, and he passed from this life October 1, 2019. Mike was a man who enjoyed the outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping and occasionally golfing with friends. He was a devoted family man. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and where they were was where he wanted to be. Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Cherry Poole Routon of Olla; son, Michael Drew Routon (Jennifer) of West Monroe; brother, Tommy Routon of Baton Rouge and grandchildren: Samuel Drew Routon and Graci Belle Routon.

Serving as pallbearers will be Sammy Elliott, Ricky Stott, Kerry Franklin, Calvin "Bull" Barnhill, Randy Stott and Chris Barnhill. Honorary pallbearers are Scotty Poole, John McIlwain, Jerry Barton, Billy Tatum, Warren Roshto, Steven McBroom and Clifton "Speedy" Poole.
