Obituary of Joyce Baum Roberts
Joyce Earline Baum Roberts was born on April 6, 1942, in Columbia, La., to the union of her parents Floyd “Tot” and Martha (Peppers) Mayes. She passed from this life on October 26, 2019.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Old Bethel Baptist Church, with Brother Benton Moore and Brother Stephen Laughlin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 28, 2019, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., and will be at Old Bethel Baptist Church.
Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved her family. She was a loving, caring, and giving person. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and exploring this great country. She was a wonderful cook. She loved photography and taking pictures of her family and the places she visited. One of her most favorite things to do was going to flea markets and scouring for that special treasure. She loved shopping and sharing the treasures she found! She also loved the holidays and any time spent with family.
Joyce was an Insurance Agent who worked many years and retired from Pelican State Life Insurance Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Bryan Baum, her first husband, Huey Baum, and her great-granddaughter, Karlee Ann Pauley. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 13 years, Wilmer “Red” Roberts, her daughter, Teresa Pauley and husband Tracey, her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Minninger and husband Richard, her step-son, Steven Roberts and wife Myong Hui, her step-daughter, Jennifer Roberts and husband David. Her grandchildren, Brandon Pauley, Derek Pauley and wife Lauren, Logan Pauley, Stuart Baum and wife Tiffany, Zachary Baum and wife London, and Spencer Baum; step-grandchildren, Amanda Quezada and husband Hermilo “Q”, and Alexander Roberts. Her great-grandchildren; Jon Mark Pauley, Whitlee and Walker Pauley, Shepherd and Thomas Baum, Sommer Baum, Benicio “Ben” and Lucas Quezada. She also had a host of cousins, family, and friends whom she loved with all of her heart.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
