Obituary of Calla Marie Matthews

Funeral services for Calla Marie Matthews, age 23 of Urania will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from the sanctuary of Zenoria Baptist Church at Trout with the Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Chalk Hill Cemetery at Trout under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Olla. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Calla was born on November 6, 1996 in Monroe, LA to her parents, Jason Matthews and Kristy Rawls Ford and she passed from this life on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from injuries received in an automobile accident. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Terry and Sheila Matthews, Sr and her maternal grandfather, Mike Fisher. Calla was a loving mother, daughter, sister and granddaughter. Her son was her world. She enjoyed art and was very talented . She also loved music. She loved hanging out with her friends and living life to the fullest.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Samuel Dean Rodriguez of Urania, LA; her parents: Jason and Jessica Matthews of Urania and Kristy and Byron Ford of Trout; her brothers: Logan Matthews, Elijah Howell and Bryor Ford; her sister, Allison Matthews; her grandmother, Gina Fisher and her grandfather, Kenny Rawls.

Serving as pallbearers will be Avery Strange, Brian Matthews, Devon Matthews, Elijah Howell, Bryon Ford and Logan Matthews.
