Obituary of Norvell Grant

Funeral services for Mr. Norvell Lamar Grant, age 69, of Columbia, LA will be held 1pm Thursday January 27, 2011 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev. James Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Star Cemetery at Kelly. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11am until time of service at the funeral home. Norvell Lamar Grant was born on May 21, 1941 to the union of Ivy Reginal Grant and Myrtis Alma Davis Grant at Pontiac, Michigan; where his father was employed with General Motors during World War II. He passed from this life on Monday January 24,2011 at the Minden Medical Center at Minden, LA following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, by a son, Morris Grant; by a brother Ronnie Grant, and by a nephew Cary Robert Grant. Norvell was a Member of Evergreen Baptist Church at Evergreen, LA . Survivors include: two brothers: Daniel K. Grant, of Columbia and Clyde Reginal Grant of Showlow, Arizona. He also leaves a sister : Rebecca Bratton of Urania, and a host of nieces and nephews.
