Obituary of Armande McHenry Kennedy
Armande McHenry Kennedy was born February 4, 1938 in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away February 2, 2020 in West Monroe, Louisiana. She is survived by her husband, Robert H. Kennedy; son, Drew Kennedy and wife, Dana Lynn; daughter, Sarah Kathleen Kennedy Fontana and husband, Heath; sisters, Sarah Louise Grant and Kathleen Wilkens; grandchildren: Caitlin Kennedy Milam and husband, Trae, Ryan David Kennedy (Savanna Edwards), Garrett Kennedy Gresham (Hope Harris), Gavin McHenry Gresham (Landis Alexander) and great-grandson, Walker Kennedy Milam. Armande was preceded in death by her son, Ryan McHenry Kennedy, her mother, May Salter Copeland, and father, B. Gunby McHenry.
Armande was very active in her church, First United Methodist, West Monroe. She was a member of P.E.O., Chapter AZ. A founding member of Trenton Society, Armande helped organize “Cotton Country Cookbook”. She was president of the Junior League of Monroe, president and charter member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority at ULM. In 1999 Armande founded Action Revenue Recovery, LLC located in Monroe, LA. She remained active in the business.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, West Monroe, Louisiana with Rev. Lamar Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the church from noon until time of service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Stanley Dupuy, Ivory Kidd, and grandsons: Ryan David Kennedy, Garrett Kennedy Gresham, Gavin McHenry Gresham and Trae Milam. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews: Mark Hendricks, Jeff Hendricks, Duncan Wilkins, Andy Wilkins and Paul Wilkins.
