Obituary of Marshall O'neil Adams

Marshall O’neil "Kojak" Adams, age 67, passed away March 4, 2020 in his home surrounded by his loved ones. We called him O’neil, Big O, and his trucking buddies knew him as Kojak. O'neil was a lifetime truck driver and owner operator after serving in the United States Army and touring in Bamburg, Germany. He will be sadly missed by many. O’neil was born the son of Tolbert Marshall Adams and Marie Callender Adams in Urania, Louisiana on December 5, 1952. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sandra Adams Foley (husband Loren Lee Foley), a sister Esther Adams Brazell, and a brother in law Jeffery Ratcliff. He is survived by his brother in law Johnny Brazell of Trout, Louisiana, brother Louis Adams wife (Debbie Kennon Adams) of Olla, Louisiana, a sister Tina Ratcliff of Olla, Louisiana, a sister Mary "Kim" Adams Belbey husband (David Belbey) of Ragley, Louisiana, a sister Toby Adams Sellers husband (Greg Sellers) of Grayson, Louisiana, and a host of nieces and nephews. He loved motorcycles, but especially loved all things trucking, and nothing gave him more joy than to pilot that big yellow Peterbilt down the highway. A memorial service in honor of O’neil will be on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Olla, Louisiana with Cherish Peppers presiding over the services. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Rest easy driver, your shift is over.
