Obituary of Allen B Emery

Funeral services for Allen B. Emery, age 81, will be Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 11 AM at Columbia Heights Baptist Church, Columbia, Louisiana with Bro. Warren Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, Louisiana. Visitation will be held at Columbia Heights Baptist Church from 10 AM until time of service. Allen Emery was born August 8, 1938 in Eagar, Arizona to the union of his parents, Sherman and Wanda Ford Emery, and passed from this life on March 14, 2020 at his home in Columbia. Allen was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Hatch, New Mexico, having served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher, and more recently a member of Columbia Heights Baptist Church. He worked for many years as a supervisor for U.S. West Telephone Company, and upon retiring found joy in farming. Baling hay, cows, and farming were his passion. Allen was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and the New Mexico Hay Association. He also loved sharing his faith in the Lord with others, and dearly loved his family. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ernie Emery, and his sister Becky Emery. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Patsy Mayes Emery of Columbia; his daughter Lori Emery Holcomb (Gary) of Canyon Lake, Texas; sons: Van Emery (Gina) of Niceville, Florida; and Tad Emery (Jennifer) of Las Cruces, New Mexico; brothers: Fred Emery, John Emery (Mary Beth) and Dean Emery; sister, Kay Zarlingo; sister-in-law, Brenda Lee; grandchildren: Adam Holcomb, Austin Holcomb, Alexander Emery, Cole Emery, Dale Emery, Holly Emery, Joseph Emery, and Catherine Emery; great-grandchild Tanner Boerger, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Adam Holcomb, Austin Holcomb, Alex Emery, Cole Emery, Dale Emery, and Joseph Emery. Honorary Pallbearers are Holly Emery, Catherine Emery, Tanner Boerger, Clint Baker, Chad Lee, Jim Bob Lee, and Gary Holcomb.
