Obituary of Freddie White Keene

Freddie Jean White Keene was born April 3, 1940 at Holum, Louisiana, to the union of her parents, Linius Bruce White and Florence Spruell White, and she passed from this life to her heavenly home on May 1, 2020 after an extended illness. Freddie was a member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe. She was a beautician for many years. Freddie loved to cook and excelled in the kitchen. Every child and grandchild had a favorite dish and she delighted in preparing it for them and then sharing that meal with them. Cooking for others was her way of showing her love for them. She adored her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as she could. Freddie was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Kim Coleman Broussard; granddaughters: Victoria McDaniel and Hope McDaniel; brother, Larry White and sister, Georgia White Hodges. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Harold Keene; sons, Shane McDaniel (Holly); Roger Coleman (Wanda), and Mark Keene (Maria); daughter, Cindy Keene; sisters: Sherry Miller (Clyde) and Carla Poole; fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will hold a private graveside service at 3 PM, Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson, Louisiana with Rev. Sherman Jones officiating. Services will be under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia. Serving as pallbearers will be Curt Jones, Hunter McDaniel, Jacob Stockton, Brandon Renfrow, Chad Renfrow and Luke Stamper. Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Coleman and Coty Roberts. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org.
