Obituary of Shirley Ann Oser Childress

Funeral services for Shirley Oser Childress age 66 of Grayson will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday May 12, 2020 from the sanctuary of Urania Pentecostal Church with Rev. Clay Hutto officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery at Clarks under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Olla and Columbia. The Childress family will receive visitors on Monday May 11 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again Tuesday noon til 2, all at the church. Shirley Ann Oser Childress was born to her loving parents, Alvin Henry “Bud” Oser and Beulah Yvonne Hatten Oser on January 8, 1954 at Monroe, LA and she passed away on Wednesday May 6, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was an active member of the Urania Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed going to hear Elvis Presley impersonators in concert. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. To know Shirley was to love her and she will be forever missed by her family and by all those who called her friend. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Murray Gros of Grayson; her beloved brother and sister-in-law: Kenny and Bettie Oser; her son and daughter-in-law: Shannon McCoy and Crystal McCoy; her daughter, Brandy Stevens; her grandchildren: Julie Posey, Clay McCoy and wife Celeste McCoy, Haley McMahan, Tyler McCoy and fiancee' Megan Renia; grandchildren: Harley Thibodeaux and girlfriend Brandi Lynn Neal, Kayla McMahan and boyfriend Jacob Grayson;great-grandchildren: Natalie McCoy, Reed McCoy, Josie McCoy; Eli Posey, Kameron Posey, Hayes McCoy, Jett Grayson and Heidi Thibodeaux. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Sims, Willie Jones, Marshall Hatten, Waymond Laffoon, Stacy Laffoon and Shane Laffoon. Honorary pallbearers include Todd Graham, Sam Brendle and Jim Clark.
