Obituary of Mamie Louise Franklin

Funeral services for Mamie Louise Moore Franklin will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from the Sanctuary of Columbia Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Warren Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow at Chickasaw Cemetery in Olla under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia. The family will receive visitors at the church from 4 PM unitl 8 PM, Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Mamie Louise Moore Franklin was born February 9, 1941 in Jena, La. as the 5th child of E.O. “Buck” and Lilly Moore. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, James Franklin. Leaving to cherish her memory are children: James (Clivette) Scroggs, John (Elaine) Scroggs, Wanda (Randy) Stroud, Max (Cindy) Scroggs, Michael (Tamara) Scroggs, Eddie (Sandy) Eddie Scroggs, Pam (Brent) Jones, and Becky Franklin. Her 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren adoringly called her “Granny” and what an amazing Granny she was!Surviving siblings are: Lola (Bobby) Bradford, Patsy Eichelberger, and Dottie (Johnny) Luttrick. Surviving sisters-in-law are Carolyn Weaver and Debbie Manasco and brother-in-law Gary Franklin. She is predeceased by her parents; siblings: “Shep” Moore, Odis Moore, Vertie Lee Short, “Sue” Moore, Reecie King, and Bobbie “Pete” Fatheree; step-son Andy Franklin and step-grandson Logan Franklin. Louise resided the majority of her life in Caldwell Parish where she was self employed for 42 years as a licensed beautician. Her home in Grayson is well known for her beautiful landscaping that she worked diligently to maintain. She enjoyed traveling and her special destination was Branson. She also loved to crochet and knit items for her loved ones. Another past time was playing cards and board games with her family. Columbia Heights Baptist Church was where she loved to worship her Lord and fellowship with her brothers and sisters in Christ. Louise delighted in her morning scriptures and devotions. She stepped into glory on June 1, 2020 very peacefully at home. Louise will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made to the Columbia Heights Baptist Church building fund or charity of your choice. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Scroggs, Joseph Scroggs, Doug Stroud, Derek Stroud, Ray Lynn Bradford, and Kenneth Fatheree. Honorary pallbearers are James Scroggs, Max Scroggs, John Scroggs, Eddie Scroggs, and Jimmy Lane Bradford.
