Obituary of Georgenia Hearn

Funeral services for Georgenia Hearn, age 77, of Columbia, Louisiana will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, June 6, 2020 from the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia with Bro. Tommy Basco officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9 AM until 10 AM at the funeral home. Georgenia was born on May 30, 1943, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the union of George Wilburn and Maggie Jordan Hearn. She came home with them to live and grow up on the family farm on Long Lake. Georgenia passed away peacefully at the Haven Nursing Center on June 4, 2020. After her father's death, Georgenia and her mother came to reside at the Haven Nursing Center where Georgenia lived until her death. The Haven was home to Georgenia and the staff was her honorary family members and treated her as such. She had a special friend, Becky Hatten, LPN, who could perform miracles with Georgenia and was a special help to her family. She is survived by a sister, Miriam Hearn McDaniel, and several nieces and nephews. Interment will be at East Haven Cemetery in Brookhaven, Mississippi, beside her mother. The family would like to extend their most grateful thanks to all of those at the Haven who have taken such good care of Georgenia through the years with patience and love.
