Obituary of Roy Lee Wise, JR

Funeral services for Roy Lee Wise, JR age 78 of Columbia will be held at 11:00 AM Friday August 14, 2020 from the sanctuary of Cross Roads Baptist Church at Grayson with Dr. Mike Holloway and Chad Wise officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson with services under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Roy Lee Wise, Jr. was born on December 14, 1941 at Springhill, LA to the union of his parents, Roy Lee Wise, SR and Audie Mae Spangler Wise, and he passed from this life on August 11, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness. Roy was a retired tool pusher in the Oil and Gas Industry and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Wise loved to tinker in his shop and loved to watch the news. He was extremely patriotic and proud of his service in the Navy. He was a man of few words but when he spoke you listened. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sonja Wise of Columbia; four sons: Roy Wise, III (Tammy) , Gregory Dale Wise (Natalie), Elton Lane Wise (LeAnn), and Robert Ainsworth (Cretia); his daughter: Tammy Hutto (Stacey) and two step-daughters: Diana Poston (Thomas) and Tina Lum (Andy); his sister: Barbara Sue Smith; eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Wise, Hunter Wise, Craig Terry, Nathan Wilson, Brandon Dunn and Chris Tucker. Online registry/condolences: riserfuneralhomes.com
