Obituary of Dora Roberts

Funeral services for Dora Maria Escalon Roberts, age 72 of Columbia, will be held at 2 PM Monday, February 13, 2012 from the sanctuary of Bethany Baptist Church in Hebert with Rev. Brian Rankin officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Hebert. Visitation will be Sunday evening at Bethany Baptist Church from 4 PM to 9 PM. Mrs. Roberts was born on November 14, 1939 in Texas to the union of Jose' Escalon and Jacinta Cantu Escalon and passed from this life on Friday, February 10, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandchildren: John Patrick Hall, Jr., Tera Lashay Hall and Joey McMurry and step-daughter, Tammy Lee Roberts. Survivors include her husband, James Roberts of Columbia, sons: Billy Lane McClanahan and wife, Vernessa of Hebert, Robin McClanahan of Columbia, daughter, Shirley Faye Hall and husband, Bill of Big Ridge, three brothers: Manuel Escalon and wife, Carolyn, Raymond Escalon and wife, Juanita and Johnny Escalon and wife, Carol, eight grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Hall, Justin Hall, Dereck McClanahan, Ruben McClanahan, Joey Escalon and Wade Escalon. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason McClanahan, Issac McClanahan and Chris Spillers.
