Obituary of Sheila Kay Cantrell Holmes

A celebration of life service for Shelia Kay Cantrell Holmes, age 72 of Youngsville, LA, will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from the santuary of Bellview Baptist Church, Columbia with Bro. Travis Sanders officiating. Mrs. Holmes was born on April 26, 1948 in Monroe, LA to the union of her parents Sheila Polk Cantrell and Mildred Lanie Cantrell and passed from this life on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Lafayette General Medical Center, Lafayette. Sheila was a dedicated homemaker whose hobbies included shopping, dancing, traveling, reading and spending time with her family. Sheila was preceded in death by her husband Benny Holmes, parents, sister Mary Carolyn Corbin and three sisters-in-law: Laurel Lucille "Josie" Richmond, Henrietta Richmond and Mary Berta Holmes. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Sheila Renea Picard (Tedman) of Youngsville, LA and Lannie Suzanne Nassans (Robert) of Celina, TX; step-son, Joseph Holmes; step-daughter, Malan Parks (John) of Natchez, MS; sisters: Sharon Elias and Joe Ellen Bingham; sisters-in-law: Betty Bernice Byrd of Houma, LA and Nancy Aileene Hancock of Houston, TX;-grandchildren: Kayla Lemke, Layla Frederick (Derick), Brittny Simon (Jonathan), Tommy Ransonet III, Katherine Nassans (fiancé Billy Keeley), Gabrielle Nassans (fiancé Alex Zarac); step-grandchildren: Dane Reeves, Sy Frederick, Kyler Parks, Emily Parks and John Parks Jr.; great-grandchildren: Addisyn Hess, Gracie Romero, Emery and Bennett Frederick, Stella and Camille Simon; step-great-grandson Matthew Griffin, and an abundance of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
