Mr. & Mrs. Patterson and Kimberly, I am so very sorry for the loss of your son and brother. I have so many good memories from our days in the Jaycees. He was more like a little brother to me than a friend. I loved his dry wit and he could always make me laugh. He was such a hard worker and loved helping his community. I've been so proud to see that he continued his education and can see why his school loved him so much. Todd was always there for me as I pursued my goals in Jaycees. He traveled and helped me get elected State President of the Jaycees. He was passionate about raising money for several charities we supported as a club. He volunteered to do everything. I'm so sorry that I lost touch with him. I hope you all find comfort in your good memories. He will always have a place in my heart. I will continue praying for all of you. I just cannot believe it :( Todd and I were school mates at Central Elementary along with so many great friends I wish I were still in contact with. Todd was the sweetest and most kindest person to me in school. His Mom was our teacher and was a brilliant one at that. We (Suzy Howard, Mark Escalon, Renee Carlisle, Michael Bates, Danny Bailey, Connie and myself) were the best of friends. I especially wish now we had stayed in touch. Todd's grand parents, the Dardens, were my grand parents, the (Edwin & Hazel) Howard's best friends. During my family and my visit to the Darden home place, we kids were allowed to each cookies and milk at the table and enjoy our time together as friends on the front porch while the grands and parents enjoyed Ms. Mittie's delicious tea cakes and coffee. Although, I have not seen Todd since those days, my heart is still there in the country with all of our friends rejoicing in gentler times gone by. My son goes to DHS and is special needs. Anytime we had an issue at school Mr Patterson was always there to help. Whether it was helping Cameron stay at school when he wanted to go home or him being bullied. He always calmed this mom down when I was in tears over my son. His kindness and love for his school children will never be forgotten. I see him in carline waving at the kids with his cup of coffee.

Many years ago, I had the privilege to meet and become friends with Todd through our membership in the Louisiana Jaycees. Todd excelled in service to others and became a nationally recognized Chapter President (Columbia) for it. I pray for him and his family and for the countless number of folks he has touched over the years. We exchanged a few messages in recent years, he had not changed, love to joke and laugh. J. Todd, Thank you for everything you did for me and my family. The support and friendship to my wife. She knew you always had her back. Things may not had worked out as we all wanted sometime but you always had her back. Leaving Doyline High School was a hard decision and one of the pros of staying was you.
