Obituary of Cathryn L. Seay

Cathryn L Seay, 78, of Baytown Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday August 23, 2020 of natural causes. The funeral service will be held at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, LA on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 2 PM, the visitation will be from 12-2 PM the same day. A graveside service will follow at Columbia Hill Cemetery. Born on February 2, 1942 in Houston, TX. She was always a hard worker and loved to laugh and smile. She was a great cook and you never left her table hungry. She loved to fish and hunt and was very crafty, she could sew or crochet anything. She also loved oil painting and created some beautiful pieces of nature and flowers that her family will cherish forever. She worked as a draftsperson designing oil pipelines in her younger days, prior to be being struck by Multiple Sclerosis. Cathy was married to her late husband, Sam, for over 33 years and they enjoyed their retirement life in Caldwell Parish running Boeuf River Retrievers, where they specialized in breeding, raising and training Chocolate Labrador Retrievers. She is preceded in death by her father, Curtis Hood, her mother, Jewel White Hood, her husband Samuel Seay and her sister, Joanne West. She is survived by her 5 daughters, Tina Ball of Liberty, TX, Tami Zahopoulos of Sheldon, TX, Billie Jo Jones of Channelview, TX, Tracy Sandifer of Richmond, TX and Kimberly Johnson of Baytown, TX. Along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
