Jimmy Hightower

Obituary of Jimmy Don Hightower

Jimmy Don Hightower was born on March 27, 1950 in Jonesboro, Louisiana to the union of Zelma Irene Nelson and Harvey Jimmy Hightower. He left to be with his Lord and Savior on August 29, 2020 at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria following a brief illness. Jimmy was a devout Christian and loved the Lord, his family and especially his grandchildren. His travels took him far and wide with his career as a pipeliner and he made many lifelong friends along the way. When his path brought him back home he could always be found sitting in the stands cheering on the people he loved while they played volleyball, softball, baseball and rodeo playdays. Jimmy loved a good old fashioned singing and any excuse for a southern family cookout. Jimmy loved the simple things in life, and the things that have true value, God, family, friends and hot black coffee. Jimmy Don was preceded in death by his parents Zelma and Harvey Hightower, sister: Tommie Ann Roberts, nephew: Darren Johnston, mother and father-in-law: Bud and Charlotte Hogg and brother-in-law: Pete Parker. He will be greatly missed by those that are left to cherish his memory, wife of twenty-three years: Dawn Hogg Hightower, sons: Cody Hightower (Peggy), Marcus Smith and Jamey Hightower; daughters: Sunny Hightower and Hannah Hightower; his precious grandchildren: Boston Hightower, Peyton Hightower, Bryleigh Deaton Hightower and Berlyn Emfinger Hightower; sisters: Brenda Parker and Reba Steen (Mickey) brothers-in-law: Mark Hogg (Marsha) and Mike Hogg and many others who loved him dearly.
