Obituary of James Maxwell "Jimmy" Wilks

Funeral services for James Maxwell “Jimmy” Wilks, age 62 of Hebert will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from the sanctuary of Bethany Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Lane McClanahan officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery with services under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. James Maxwell Wilks, known by everyone as Jimmy, was born on August 13, 1958 at Key West, Florida to the union of his parents, James Lamar Wilks and Georgia Colleen Maxwell Wilks and he passed from this life on October 16, 2020 at his residence in Hebert. Jimmy worked most of his life as a pipeline surveyor. He was preceded in death by his precious mother, Colleen; his brother, Kenneth Carl Wilks and his dads twin brother, John R. Wilks. To know Jimmy was to love him and he will be greatly missed. Left to cherish his memory is his dad, James Lamar Wilks of Hebert, his wife: Linda Sue Zeagler Wilks of Hebert; his daughters: Amanda Boyett (Mark Boyett), Sarah Baxter (Lance Sanderson), and Samantha Wilks (Bobby Perot); his grandchildren: Dylan Baxter, Drew Hankins, Sawyer Boyett and Abigail Boyett; his sister, Jamie Jo Wilks; his aunt, Myrt Wilks and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Chance Flores, Colt Hall, Blake Perot, Mark Boyett, Bobby Perot, Lance Sanderson, Dylan Baxter, Drew Hankins and Johnny Brandin.
