Obituary of Norman Odell Winbery

Norman Odell Winbery, 85, passed from this life on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. Odell was a resident of the The Haven Nursing Facility in Columbia. A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 25th, 2020, at 2PM at New Union cemetery with Rev. Lynn Wilson officiating. Odell was born on September 13, 1935 in Urania to the union of Tillman and Elmer Foshee Winbery. Odell was employed as a plumber, maintenance worker and emergency medical technician in addition to being well known as a long time Justice of the Peace for Ward 2 in LaSalle Parish. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Emily Ann Russell Winbery; brother-in-law, Norman (Sonny) Stott; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tillman and Elmer Foshee Winbery; brother, Carlton Winbery and wife, Ann; sisters: Nina Winbery Stott, Nola Winbery Wilson and husband, Red, and Sarah Winbery Meredith and husband, Hartsel.
