Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Nancy was born April 27, 1943 and went to her heavenly home on December 1, 2020 at the age of 77. She was an active member of Grayson Baptist Church. Nancy worked for many years, along with her husband, as an owner and manager of Darden's Dry Goods in Columbia. She loved to read, play dominoes, travel, and play golf with friends. Her passion was her family. She spent every spare minute attending any and every activity her family was participating in, whether it be some type of ball game, a play day or dance recital. If one of her children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren was participating, she was there cheering them on. She was loved deeply and will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Odis Randolph "Butch" Darden; her mother, Minnie Marcelle Steele Brown; her father, William Simmons; and her son, Charles Edward "Eddie" Crockett. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Tammy May and Lori Broussard (Greg); her sons: Butch Darden (Vicki), Johnny Darden (Cheryl) and Deno Darden (Cheryl); her sister, Karen Ezell (Ray); eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as an endless circle of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Nick Rushing, Dylan May, Cameron May, Dolph Darden, Randy Parker, and Ashton Cruse. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mark Roberts, Willie Hines, Dennis Dannehl, Chuck Cruse and Andrew May. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Schepis Museum or Caldwell Parish Library.
