Obituary of Tommy Hicks Jr.
Funeral services for Thomas “Tommy” Jackson Hicks Jr. will be held 3:00 Pm Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Olla First Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Baker officiating with the Interment following in Olla Cemetery under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Olla First Baptist Church from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Tommy was born in Vicksburg Mississippi on July 17, 1947 to the union of his parents, Thomas Hicks Sr. and Nora Mae Standifer and passed away from this life peacefully February 3, 2021 at his home. Tommy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved life, joking around, mud riding in is Toyota Land Cruiser, hunting, and fishing. Tommy was a proud Mason, and Shriner. He loved riding his motorcycle in all the parades, frying turkeys at Thanksgiving, playing Santa Claus at Christmas, he loved his cat “Patches”, and his rooster “Rooster”. Tommy loved his family, friends, going to church, but most of all he loved Jesus. Tommy worked for many years as a General Foreman of a Pipeline Chemical Plant. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Hicks, his sisters: Nora Faye Lucas, and Peggy Sue Lara. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Barbara Hicks, son Shannon Hicks (Victoria), Daughters: Cynthia Hicks, and Stacy Hicks, his brother Joey Hicks, his grandchildren Shealyn Berger, Brittany Guidry, Shelley Hicks, Tommy Hicks, William Hicks, Stephen Hicks, Shannon Hicks Jr., and Damian Hicks, great-grandchildren Jayden Guidry, Addilynn Guidry, Braylon Jeffery, Sophia Berger, Nolan Eastridge, Malcom Holmes, and waiting on Landon Eastridge to arrive.
Serving as pallbearers are Joel Sims, Josh Sims, Shannon Hicks, Tommy S Hicks, William Hicks, Joey Hicks Jr., Kerry Richey, and Doug Thompson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jayden Guidry, Dub Comeaux, William Moody, Ron Holcomb, Damian Hicks, Brandon Hicks, and Stephen Zeller.
The family kindly asks that masks be worn.
In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made to Olla First Baptist Church at Po Box 326 Olla La., 71465
