Obituary of Kathryn Sue "Susie" Nelson

Funeral services for Susie Nelson, age 69 of Grayson will be held 1:00 PM Friday February 26, 2021 from the sanctuary of Cross Roads Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Cross Roads Cemetery at Grayson with services under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Kathryn Sue Nelson was born on January 20, 1952 at Columbia, LA to the union of her parents Charles Lavelle Claunch and Dorothy Ross Claunch and she passed from this life on February 18, 2021 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. Known as Susie, to everyone, she was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to so very many. Susie had worked in the community as a childcare worker having owned her own childcare center for many years. Her family and especially her granddaughters were her heart, but she also felt the same way about her kids who attended her daycare. Susie was a faithful member of Cross Roads Baptist Church at Grayson.Travel was also something that Susie loved to do with her family. Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her husband Earl Nelson of Grayson, her mother Dorothy Claunch of Grayson, her sons: David Nelson and wife, Jamie of Grayson and Chad Nelson of Grayson; her brother: Roger Claunch and wife, Anna of Columbia; three grandchildren : Emory Grace Nelson, Madilyn Elizabeth Nelson and Lathan Alan Dennis and a host of other family members and friends.
