Obituary of Roy Glynn Strickland

Graveside funeral services for Roy Glynn Strickland, age 66, of Columbia, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 15, 2021 at Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson, Louisiana with Bro. Billy Lane McClanahan officiating. Services are under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Roy was born July 1, 1954 in Columbia, LA to the union of his parents, Katie Belle Swett Strickland and Malloy Samuel Strickland, and he passed form this life March 12, 2021 at Glenwood Medical Center in West Monroe, LA. Roy was an electrician at Louisiana Pacific for over 20 years before retiring from there. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Jana Suzette Strickland; son, Matthew Scott Strickland; sister, Ethel Dyer; and brothers: Malloy "Red" Strickland and Harold "Peaches" Strickland. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jan Strickland; sisters: Rita Dyer and Patricia Cerrelli; brothers: Robert Strickland, Elee Strickland, Jacob Strickland, and Jerry Strickland; sister-in-law, Debbie Dannehl (Ricky); brother-in-law, Henry "Bully" Stephens (Brenda); and a host of nieces and nephews. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Hixson, Michael Joe Hixson, Gabe Hixson, Trey Cook, James Stephens, and Roger Stephens.
