Obituary of John Michael Cummings

Funeral services for John Michael Cummings of Kelly, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla, LA with Bro. Tony Walton officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the Olla Chapel on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. John was born in Columbia, Louisiana on April 21, 1948 to the union of his parents, Howard and Francine Cummings, and he passed from this life April 12, 2021 in Marion, Louisiana surrounded by his loved ones. John served his country in the Air Force and was based out of Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins, Georgia, where he was a jet engine mechanic and worked on C141 jet planes. John loved the outdoors, he loved working with his tools on building projects and going to watch the dirt track races. John also had a love for animals, especially his cats. He loved his family and enjoyed visiting with his best friends, Stan and Virginia Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Linus and Docia Cummings; his brother, Jack Cummings; and his fiancee, Shirley Gray. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jason Cummings (Candy) of Marion, LA; brothers: David Cummings (Cecile), Mark Cummings (Laura), and Danny Cummings; a sister, Shirley Andrews (Charles); two step-grandchildren: Kaytlyn Ulm and Cody Ulm; and a host of nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Baker, Matthew Baker, Andrew Baker, David Cummings, Mark Cummings, and Norman Guerrero. Honorary pallbearers are Stan Fletcher and Danny Cummings.
