Dearest family, We'd like to write everything we have remembered these last days. I can hear Bert's giggle, his ye ow yowl for yes and it usually meant he had something to share just coming up. I guess the fact that we knew he lived in such pain, yet never said anything or indicated discomfort is pretty unforgettable and endears him further to us. HIs devotion to the Lord and especially to His church were unparalleled and inspirational. He loved and honored each member of his family. We knew his love too. I just happen to read his comments written in our guest book a couple days before we learned that his home going was soon. That was on his last visit to Montana. We have tears and a certain void that is hard to put in words. His kind and gentle ways we cherish as well. He was a craftsman, woodworker and made beautiful things. He was diligent in tasks. We wish we were there. We did try, but the travel time took a full day from here and now it is not possible. If anyone is missing a hug, let it be from us and the depth of our love for each of you in the name of the one who called Bert to Himself. We will worship together in person on another day. Greet my Dad, will you? Special Love to LaVada, Don and Carol Spurgeon
