Obituary of Dorothy Woods

Funeral services for Dorothy Woods, age 89 of Olla, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 4, 2012 at Olla Methodist Church with Rev. Aaron Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riser Funeral Home in Olla and Friday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in El Dorado, AR and the graveside service will be at 3:00 PM at the cemetery. Dorothy was born June 15, 1922 to J.E. And Pearl Burris in El Dorado and she passed from this life on May 2, 2012 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She enjoyed painting and gardening and being with her family. She taught Sunday School at Olla Methodist for 52 years. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lyle Woods; her parents. She is survived by two sons: Glen Woods; Kenneth Woods and his wife Mary; brother: Jack Burris; grandchildren: Cheryl Williams and her husband Mike; Sheila Durham and her husband Brian; three great-grandchildren: Cody Williams, Katie Williams, and Conner Williams. Pallbearers will be Brian Durham, Mike Burris, Travis Brown, Mike Allbritton, Cody Williams, and Dandy Dove. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Woods, Terry Ranton, Jeffery Johnson, Danny Cummings, and Mike Williams. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Olla Methodist Church P.O. Box 577 Olla, LA 71465.
