Obituary of Wilma Rushing
Funeral services for Wilma Jean "Maw Maw Lucy" Rushing, 75, of Olla, will be held 10 AM Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Olla with Bro. Johnnie Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at the Olla Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-9 PM at Riser Funeral Home in Olla.
Jean was born June 27, 1935 to Albert and Lexie Chafin in Kermit, West Virginia and she passed from this life on February 20, 2011 at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania.
She attended the First Baptist Church of Olla and she loved to work in her garden. She loved her pets, Furby and Boogie. She was preceded in death by her husband: Clinton B. Rushing, Sr.; her parents; two brothers: Robert Chafin and Ralph Lillmon Chafin; one sister: Aleene Chafin Smith.
Survivors include two sons: Gerald Dale Thompson and his wife Joyce of Olla; James Douglas Thompson and his wife Sharon of Olla; five brothers: Thomas Chafin of Galena, OH; Albert J. Chafin of Ponte Vedra, FL; Paul Chafin of Brownsville, PA; Donald Chafin of Columbus, OH; James Chafin of Columbus, OH; one sister: Bonnie Wilson of Galena, OH; nine grandchildren: Jim Thompson of Olla; Kevin D. Thompson of Olla; Christopher Thomas of Dodson; Misty White of Haughton; Heather Thompson of Olla; Justin Parker of Dodson; Lacey David of Olla; Jerilynne Thompson of Olla; and Casey Keene of Ruston; nine great-grandchildren: Isabelle Thompson of Olla; Matthew Thompson of Olla; Harmony Thompson of Olla; Damian White of Haughton; Hunter White of Haguhton; Bayleigh Cline of Tucson, AZ; Taylor Guild of Olla; Rory Guild of Olla; and Hayden David of Olla.
Pallbearers will be Ray Thompson, Tony Thompson, Scott Stringer, Bard Lambeth, Steve Hebert, and Mickey Steen.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Lane Hanner.
