Obituary of Eleanor Cassel

Funeral services for Eleanor June Cassel, age 95, of Olla will be held 10AM Friday January 25, 2013 from the sanctuary of Olla United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Aaron Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Visitation will be on Thursday January 24, 2013 at the Olla United Methodist Church from 5 pm until 8 pm. Eleanor June (Goss) Cassel was born on June 27,1917 at Doniphan County, Kansas, to the union of her parents, Harry Bernard Goss and Bessie Smith Goss. She passed from this life on Friday January 18, 2013 at her residence in Olla. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband Robert F. Cassel; a daughter Suzanne Cassel, her granddaughter, Elizabeth Meisner;a brother, Edward Goss and a sister Doris Grisby. She was a devoted member of the Olla United Methodist Church and had worked extensively with the Girl Scouts, 4-H, and was a school teacher and book keeper. Survivors include, two daughters, Celeste Meisner of Clarksville, TN ; and Mari L. Cassel of Olla, Louisiana; her brother, James B Goss of Troy, Kansas; and a granddaughter, Katherine Meisner of Clarksville, TN.
