Obituary of Brenda McClary

Funeral services for Brenda Nugent McClary, age 61 of Olla will be held 2 pm Tuesday March 19, 2013 from the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Olla with Rev. Johnnie Phillips and Rev. Jack McKeithen officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Creek Cemetery near Olla. Visitation will be on Monday March 18, 2013 from 5pm until 8pm at the Riser Funeral Home in Olla. Brenda Kay (Nugent) McClary was born on August 15, 1951 at Urania, La to the union of her parents, Hershel Franklin Nugent and Nora Mae (Snoddy) Nugent. She passed from this life on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Christus St. Francis Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria. Brenda was a member of the Kelly Baptist Church and she was a dispatcher with the La Salle Parish Sheriff's Office, and was very actively involved in her community. She worked with the Kiwanis Club in LaSalle Parish with their yearly Christmas Fund Drive to help the less fortunate of the area. Brenda was loved by her community and will be sorely missed. Survivors include: Her husband, Russell McClary of Olla, two sons: Gary McClary and wife Kristy of Palisade, Colorado, and Cal McClary of Olla; her daughter: April Cotten and husband David of Urania; two brothers: Delton Nugent of Holum, and Hansel F. Nugent of Pearl, MS; and her sister: Virginia Emig of Olla. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Chelsey, Drew, Clay,Kyla, Grayson, and Lauren. Pallbearers include LaSalle Parish Sherriff's Deputy's: Mike Barber, Steve Poole, Terry Keene, Denny Pitman, Jeff Wyles, and Brant King.
