Obituary of Don Woods

Funeral services for Don Woods, 88, of Olla, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Olla with Bro. Johnnie Phillips and Bro. Todd Whittigton officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riser Funeral Home in Olla. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. Don was born June 28, 1924 to George and Laurel Woods in Monroe and he passed from this life on March 16, 2013 at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania. He was a retired employee of the state. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the Navy and he attended First Baptist Church in Olla. He was preceded in death by his wife: Joyce Raines Woods; his parents; brother: Lyle Woods. He is survived by his daughter: Donna Lewellyan and her husband of West Monroe; two grandchildren: Glen Lewellyan and Michelle Monzingo; four great-grandchildren: Jessika Monzingo, Kyle Monzingo, Jeremy Lewellyan, and Lauren Lewellyan. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Woods, Glen Lewellyan, Jeremy Lewellyan, Donnie Cupples, Alvin Spence, and Dana Gamble. Honorary Pallbearers will be Buddy Harris, James Taylor, Glen Henderson, and David Cummings.
