Obituary of D'wan Girod Simmons

Funeral services for D'wan Girod Simmons, age 57 of Clarks, LA, will be held at 11 AM Friday, April 12, 2013 from the sanctuary of Apostolic Truth Tabernacle in Grayson, LA with Rev. Sherman Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Clarks, LA. Visitation will be Thursday evening at Apostolic Truth Tabernacle from 4 PM to 9 PM. Mrs. Simmons was born on November 12, 1955 in Freeport, TX to the union of her parents, Irby May Girod and Emma Jean Barnette Girod and passed from this life on Monday, April 8, 2013 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her father, Irby May Girod and brother, Kenneth Scott Girod. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mark Simmons; two daughters: Schanell Smith and husband, Bill and Stacey Thompson and husband, Bart; her mother, Emma Jean Girod; brothers: David Girod and wife, Kenda, Paul Girod and wife, Nicole, Guy Girod and wife, Mimi and Severan Girod and wife, Teasha; two sisters: Jeannine Girod and Kim Longabaugh and husband, Darryl; grandchildren: Kristin Dionne Bailes, Shannah Smith, Shaye DeMoss, Hunter DeMoss, Corey DeMoss and Sophie Claire Thompson and two great-grandchildren: Koda DeMoss and Waylon Cash DeMoss. Pallbearers will be Shaye DeMoss, Corey DeMoss, Dallas DeMoss, Jacob Buntyn, Devin Girod and Ethan Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter DeMoss.
