Obituary of John Patton

Funeral services for Mr. John V. Patton, age 74 of Olla, will be held at 2 PM Sunday, April 3, 2011 from the sanctuary of Olla Apostolic Pentecostal Church with Bro. D.R. Boney, Bro. Johnny Barnhill and Bro. Cecil Grantham officiating. Interment will follow at New Union Cemetery in Tullos. Visitation will begin Friday evening at 6 PM at the church and last until time of service on Sunday. Mr. Patton was born in Corey on December 20, 1936 to the union of Jonie Frank and Dona Monk Patton and went to his Heavenly home on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his residence. John was a switcher in the oilfield industry. He was a member of Olla Apostolic Pentecostal Church and loved his church. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson; Josh Stewart Patton, three brothers: Charlie Patton, Junior Patton, Clarence Patton and sister; Mary Bailes. Survivors include his wife of 50 years; Lois Jean Barnhill Patton of Olla, four sons: John Vernon Patton and wife, Kelly of Sacramento, CA, Louis Allen Patton and wife, Annette of Olla, Frank Stewart Patton of Poatuo, OK and Daniel Edward Patton of Olla, brother; Jonie Frank Patton of Clarks, sister; Audrey Mae Peavy of Winnfield, seven grandchildren: Shon Patton, Summer Leon, Ashley Patton, Jennifer Patton, Jana Patton, Jill Patton and Heather Holmes, four great-grandchildren; Jon Leon, Kattie Leon, Shon Patton, Jr. and Shelby Patton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All were very loved. Pallbearers will be Shon Patton, Layton Peavy, Roy Patton, Troy Patton, Curtis Bailes and Jerry Wayne Patton. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Patton, Roy Barnhill, Glen Barnhill, Glenn Hardy, Shane McDaniel, Frank "Bubbie" Patton and Leonard Barnhill.
